Robotics and Technology Club at OTMS
Well after two years… I got approval for the Robotics, Radio, and Technology Club. I hope it all goes well. Yes it is nerdy, but nerds run everything that we use anyway. I will post the meeting happenings here.. so if you are a closet nerd…. come on in and read the news when it happens
ARRL Teacher Institute
Well… There are some truly weird states and areas in the US… But Connecticut is right at the top of the list! I am attending the Amateur Radio Relay League Teacher Institute this week in Newington, CT. This place is weird! The workshop has been really good and there are lots of resources that I will be bringing back to Madison with me. The most exciting thing was to be able to operate the famous W1AW ham radio station. When this station calls … a pileup starts. The group had their individual turns on various bands and there were many contacts made. I cannot wait to get out of this place though! I will never look at pizza the same way again! There is an Italian place or pizzeria on every corner or block! NO MORE PIZZA!!!!!
Praying Mantis
Well… my father had a load of junk metal that needed to be sorted before he squashed it and took it to the junkyard. I looked through all the the heap and pulled out the usable metal. I found several interesting things that I knew could be used, but did not know how. There is this red rack sort of contraption with arms that looked like a praying mantis. Now…. I thought I knew what a praying mantis looked like. The more I thought about it… I am not sure… thank the lord for Google! I hope to have my mantis form welded by weeks end… maybe painted next week. Who knows?
